Official FIE Refereeing DVD Vol 1: Sabre. Settle arguments in your club, and allow your team-mates to look upon you as a fencing god or goddess. This DVD is a production of FIE made by Arturo Cramer (BRA), FIE Vice President. The resulting documentary is approximately 62 minutes long, with discussions by Maitres des Armes and video examples. The original idea was to make it for referees, but the FIE wanted everybody to be able to see it. Fencing Pictures is helping to distribute this valuable tool — online and on DVD!

How it works:
Each section begins with the main question (like "How to make an attack"), and then leads to the Maitres d'armes discussing and demonstrating the proper execution. Then, actual footage from high-level competitions is displayed — complete with pauses so you can make your own call. Then the action is replayed with a little Referee in the upper right corner making the hand signals. There are several phrases d"armes for each section, showing common actions and how to evaluate them as a referee.
This is an excellent club buy, and an unbelievable resource for sabre fencers, coaches and referees.
